Having time off during your summer break can be great for achieving a few goals. Learn what you could work on through this post.

Academic Goals to Accomplish this Summer

  1. The first goal is to read more. Reading can help you improve your vocabulary, your grammar, your spelling, and learn about a slew of different subjects. If you don't read much, start reading half an hour each day.
  2. You should also take on the goal to keep a journal. Writing on a daily basis can help you with vocabulary, grammar, and spelling, too. Plus, it can allow you to express your ideas healthily. If you don't write much, simply document your daily experiences.
  3. One goal you shouldn't neglect during summer break is that of studying your notes. Doing so a couple of times during vacation will help you avoid the summer learning slide, as well as keep your knowledge fresh for the next school year.
  4. Make it a point to engage in physical activities during the break, too. When you move, you have fun, you work your muscles, and you oxygenate your brain. Enroll in swimming lessons, walk your dog every day, or play a game of basketball with your friends, but keep moving.
  5. This is the opportunity to try new things that you normally don't have time for. You can take on a new language, an instrument, painting, bicycling, and more. Take advantage of your time off to learn new skills.
  6. Lastly, you can visit new places (like a new country, city, state, or place in your own town). Visiting new places can help you learn, have fun, break out of your routine, and have memorable moments with friends and family.
